Direct supplier GunSails also has an absolutely competitive helmet in its range with the Hydro model. A closer look reveals that the helmets from GunSails, F2 and ProLimit are basically identical.

The hard outer shell of the Hydro reaches far down in both the neck and forehead areas. For this reason, the helmet encloses the head quite comprehensively and offers a good fit. The size can be further customised using an adjustment wheel. A flat padding material has been glued to the inside, which is pleasantly soft and ensures good wearing comfort. Another minor criticism of this model is that the safety strap around the chin is not padded, which can sometimes be uncomfortable when adjusted tightly. The Hydro helmet also encloses the ear area very well, the ear holes are fortunately so small that there is no annoying wind noise. In warm temperatures and for better hearing, the ear pads can be removed; if it gets draughty, you can close the bulkheads. However, as the pads are only inserted and not fixed with Velcro or press studs, there is a risk of losing them.

WING conclusion:
With the GunSails Hydro you get a rock-solid and comfortable helmet for a more than fair price, which is fully up to scratch in terms of safety and wearing comfort and absorbs very little water.
