The Duo Boards project was launched six years ago in an attempt to combine the performance advantages of fixed boards with the travel-friendly pack size of inflatable concepts. With the Duo Foiler, this idea should work equally well for wingfoilers and windsurf foilers.
Until now, foilers have often been faced with the choice of either being satisfied with the poorer average planing performance of inflatables or accepting the larger pack size of a hardboard. In this respect, the idea of designing a board that is fixed at the back and inflatable at the front seems perfectly understandable. You stand on the fixed tail just like on a hardboard, and the straps can be screwed on as normal. The connection of the foil to the board is also 1:1 as with normal hardboards. Inflating the board to a maximum of 15 psi should also be quicker and more comfortable than with any fully inflatable board.
The Duo Foiler is designed to deliver the best performance in the cruising area with regard to its wingsurfing suitability and is therefore aimed at beginners and ambitious foil freeriders. The board can also be used with windsurfing sails thanks to the option of mounting a base plate. However, as the board is quite short from a windsurfing point of view, a good deal of experience is probably required for this - the concept is probably too short for complete beginners.
The board comes with a compact trolley bag (packing size: 120 x 90 x 30 cm), a pump, a repair kit and screws for foot straps. The pack size should be so compact that the board does not have to be declared as surf luggage on most airlines. This makes the Duo Foiler the perfect companion for travelling by plane, camper or boat. The Duo Foiler is available in two sizes. As a 6'0 with 180 x 74 x 95 litres and one size larger as a 6'6 with dimensions of 198 x 74 x 110 litres. Both sizes retail for 1299 euros.
