Fanatic expands the inflatable Sky range with an entry-level size. Small fins on the sides and tail make the board a good alternative for beginners and intermediates.

With a length of 208 centimetres and a volume of 200 litres, the new Fanatic Sky Air 6'10" has enough volume for safe bobbing even without a foil. Lateral fins and two track holders in the stern ensure directional stability and prevent drifting. Beginners can therefore practise their wing handling in a relaxed manner before trying their hand at foiling.

In contrast to conventional iSUPs, the Fanatic Sky Air no longer requires additional drift inhibitors. A foil can later be mounted on the integrated base plate - the board can therefore be used for a wide range of skill levels. According to Fanatic, the carbon & glass plate ensures extremely stable flight characteristics and direct handling.

The other shape features are plenty of nose rocker for the smoothest possible touchdown and a silicone edge on the rail for good lift. Comfort and riding characteristics should therefore be as close as possible to the GRP Sky Wing boards.

In contrast to the smaller sizes in the range, the 6'10" has no inserts for footstraps according to the Fanatic data sheet. A handle in the underwater hull ensures good handling on land, and the Sky Air comes with a pump and a bag that can also hold a wing.

Tobi is our digital man, he looks after the surf website and social media channels and gets on everyone's nerves every morning by asking for more pictures and videos. His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
