JP-Australia is expanding its Wingfoil range with the new XR board, which, according to the manufacturer, has been specially developed for riders looking for maximum stability and uncomplicated handling. The board is characterised by its slightly elongated shape, which offers an enlarged deck area and thus facilitates balancing in all phases of the take-off - from climbing and kneeling to standing and taking off into flight mode.
The dimensions of the JP-Australia XR in combination with an even volume distribution should ensure unrivalled stability. This promises not only a safer experience on the water, but also in the air. Despite the extended shape, the board retains a direct and compact characteristic thanks to the centred stance position, which should have a positive effect on manoeuvrability and the connection to the foil. Werner Gnigler, responsible for the development of the XR Pro, explains the advantages of the design: "The elongated outline enables the use of a thinner profile, which reduces drag. In combination with the slightly concave deck, this results in a very comfortable standing position and a well-connected feeling to the foil."
The XR draws on proven design features from previous JP boards, writes the manufacturer. These include the light nose rocker with double concave-V for better glide and faster acceleration, the sharp rail tuck line for maximum glide area and precise take-off, as well as a pronounced tail rocker for an improved flying position with more nose clearance.
The revised tracks are a significant innovation. These now have large openings that make it easy to mount the foil on the board. The plate nuts can simply be inserted into the track, pushed into position and tightened. JP-Australia emphasises that additional openings in the tracks have been omitted in order to preserve their structural integrity.
The JP-Australia XR comes with a standard set of four plate nuts designed to ensure an optimal fit to the tracks, good load distribution and ideal thread engagement. A positioning scale between the tracks is reflected in the design of the deck EVA pad, allowing precise placement of the foil in relation to the back foot position. The XR PRO boards feature a full sandwich construction of high-density PVC for the deck and bottom. In combination with the Innegra rail reinforcement, this should provide an optimum ratio of stiffness and low weight. The tracks are embedded in high-density blocks that extend from the deck to the floor and create an extremely stable construction.
