Our verdict at the time was: "Easy to glide and easy to ride - but also slightly less compact than other models." Now the Norden Futurama V3 in carbon construction is to be launched on the market as a supplement.
The board is manufactured in "Carbon Ultra Light Construction". It has a narrow nose, which has been given an extra portion of volume through increased thickness to ensure easy launching. The tail shape has also been adapted: the board now has a hard trailing edge, which should reduce resistance in the planing phase and guarantee early take-off.
According to the manufacturer, the carbon construction should be around 600 grams lighter than the construction of the Futurama V2. Despite all the changes, the manufacturer claims to have retained the basic concept of the Futurama boards. A little more length should make it easier to take off and also have a positive effect on the touchdown behaviour when chopping or downwinding. All in all, the V3 should also appeal to a large target group, from flat water surfers to freestyle and downwind riders.
