Specialised light wind boards are all the rage - and now Tabou also has such a model on offer with the Super Yaka. Find out what it's all about here.

Derived from the long, narrow downwind boards, a new class of board is currently entering the market, the mid-length boards (Here you can find out what it's all about). The new Tabou Super Yaka also falls into this category and, with its stretched outline, should score particularly well for light wind use and SUP foiling. The Super Yaka also has the option of attaching straps to the deck, which should also make the model suitable for freeride use. However, to increase user-friendliness, the board has been given significantly more width than special downwind boards.

The Super Yaka model will be available in four sizes, here are the key data:

  • Super Yaka 96: 6'4'' x 22''/ 193 x 56 cm
  • Super Yaka 106: 6'10'' x 22,8'' / 208 x 58 cm
  • Super Yaka 116: 7'2'' x 22.8'' / 218 x 58 cm
  • Super Yaka 126: Dimensions to be announced

The shapes were each manufactured with carbon in the deck and underwater hull, which is said to have realised very light weights. Depending on the size, the prices are between 1999 and 2099 euros. Information is also available on the manufacturer's website.
