The large white whale comes with grey-orange decor and plenty of equipment: RRD packs its "Air Beluga" boards together with a pump and light straps in a rucksack, which is also designed to fit a wing, foil and wetsuit. This makes it possible to start foiling and "keep going" without your own car or excess baggage.
The inflatable board comes in four sizes, whereby the 235 litre and 200 litre versions are new. The 160 litre and 140 litre versions are already known. "The large volume guarantees you a comfortable platform to have the stability you need to forget about the board and concentrate on learning to foil," promises RRD.
The RRD Air Beluga offers beginners a thruster set-up to familiarise themselves with the wing in SUP mode. The side fins are designed to act as a drift inhibitor. Later, a foil can be inserted into the double rails, with the side fins optionally remaining in place to ensure sufficient directional stability in displacement mode. In the pure foil setup and with the three light straps, the board is also attractive for advanced wingfoilers.
A mast foot thread is also included for windfoiling with a windsurfing rig. It can also be used as a children's board.
The board consists of a double layer of PVC on the deck and in the underwater hull for more rigidity. The carbon plate with the double rail for the foil consists of a PVC foam core and 3k prepreg carbon, which should ensure maximum stability and low weight at the same time.
