According to the manufacturer, the Slingshot Manticore V1 is a good-natured board for your first attempts at wingfoiling or for making rapid progress after your first experience. The relatively favourable price of around 1000 euros, depending on the size, also makes the board attractive for beginners and intermediates.
This is made possible by the construction: The Manticore is moulded and therefore somewhat heavier, but also more robust than sandwich boards. The wide shape has a flat bottom curve, which should ensure good planing. At the same time, this gives the Manticore a lot of tipping stability, which should enable beginners in particular to familiarise themselves with foil handling. "But even once the first few metres have been mastered and the control of the foil is already in place, the Manticore V1 model with its forgiving character proves to be the ideal companion for rapid learning progress," promises Slingshot.
The rails, which are slightly drawn into the underside, are designed to promote early take-offs and have a forgiving effect on involuntary touchdowns. The Manticore also comes with a large pad and various strap options. Of course, beginners can also ride the board without straps.
Slingshot advertises the board as follows: "With its good-natured character, it will help you quickly immerse yourself in your wing adventure and continue to be a good companion even after the first big steps, so that you can develop your riding skills immediately!"
We'll soon reveal how the Manticore rides here at wingsurf.world - a board is already in the test cellar!
