RRD Beluga
From June 2021, the new Beluga wingsurf board from manufacturer RRD will be available in new sizes. We introduce you to the board concept and the announced innovations.

Just so there are no misunderstandings - the specifications for the already available Beluga models 160 & 170 refer to the length, not the volume! The Beluga 170 is therefore 170 centimetres long and, with a volume of 105 litres and a width of 72 centimetres, is recommended for slightly advanced wingsurfers who want to have some volume reserve for take-off or are often out and about in light wind conditions. The Beluga 160, on the other hand, should feel freer and easier to turn and, according to the manufacturer, is the better all-rounder for tricks, waves and flat water - but with a volume of only 75 litres, it is probably best suited to either very light wingsurfers or significantly more advanced wingsurfers.

In order to close the gap between the two sizes and meet the growing demand, RRD will also be launching the Beluga model in other sizes from June 2021: The Beluga 175 (175 centimetres, 125 litre volume) will then be aimed even more at beginners to wingfoiling and ensure quick learning success. The Beluga 165 could also be of interest to many advanced riders - 165 centimetres long and with a volume of 90 litres.

And for the cracks? Even those looking for a board that is as small as possible for tricks in strong winds won't have to look down the tubes at RRD in future - the Beluga 155 & 140 models have a volume of just 55 and 35 litres respectively.

For all sizes, the RRD designers have used strongly bevelled edges ("bevels") to reduce resistance in the event of unwanted touchdowns. A pronounced kicker at the rear should also ensure that you take off in no time when pumping.

Prices for the LTE version of the Beluga will be between 1199 and 1249 euros, depending on the size.

As soon as the new sizes are available, we will present the Beluga to you in a driving report on wingsurf.world.
