The new Fanatic Sky Wing wingboard is coming onto the market in nine sizes - with striking updates. We have already tested the new Sky Wing TE.

The Fanatic Sky Wing on land:

The new Fanatic Sky Wing is coming onto the market in sizes ranging from 4'6'' (35 litres) to 6'3'' (140 litres). According to the manufacturer, the range is divided into three parts - the two smallest sizes of 4'6'' and 4'7'' are designed for radical wingfoiling and prone surfing, while the large Sky Wing with 140 litres has been consistently optimised for the needs of beginners. The medium sizes between 4'8'' and 5'8'' are then designed as all-rounders. The sizes 4'8''/5'0''/5'2''/5'4'' and 5'6'' are also available in a lighter Team Edition (TE) with an identical shape; we were able to test the Team Edition in the size 5'2'' (85 litres).

Compared to the previous model, the bow area of the new Sky Wing has been designed to be slightly narrower. The large deck pad is remarkably grippy, and we also found the loops to be very comfortable, with double screws at the rear. The carrying handle on the underside is easy to grip. At a measured 5.60 kilos, the Team Edition is extremely light, thanks to its full carbon construction.

As always, we also present this wingboard in a video clip on our YouTube channel before. Click inside!

Lightweight & sporty - the Fanatic Sky Wing in a practical test:

The Fanatic Sky Wing Wingboard is quite stable in the water around its longitudinal axis, only the rather narrow bow needs to be loaded sensitively when starting. The board converts gusts into speed without delay - regardless of whether you are standing passively on deck or actively pumping the wingboard - and the narrow bow hardly pushes any water in front of it, allowing the Sky Wing TE to reach the required take-off speed very quickly. In the air, the board hangs light as a feather and wonderfully agile on the foot, and anyone who drops off involuntarily or hits a choppy wave with the rail is gently guided back up again.

In addition to the flawless planing and acceleration behaviour, it is above all the flight feel that distinguishes the Fanatic Wingboard: In manoeuvres, you are very secure on the wide deck and the pad offers perfect grip. The light weight of the board comes into its own on all jumps, especially through 360s and other rotations, the Sky Wing TE whirls as if in fast motion.

Conclusion:

The Fanatic Sky Wing leaves nothing to be desired and scores with top planing behaviour and a very compact and feather-light feel. The potential target group ranges from freeriders to ambitious freestylers and wave fans. If 1899 euros is too steep for a wingfoil board, the Sky Wing 5'2'' with an identical shape in an epoxy construction weighing around 500-700 grams is available for 1399 euros.
