JP-Australia presents the F-Winger in a new S-TEC construction. This freestyle board weighs around 700 grams less than its predecessor and combines an EPS core with carbon reinforcements. Three sizes, ranging from 55 to 77 litres, cater for riders of different weights.

The F-Winger from JP-Australia is now available exclusively at S-TEC construction method Available. The construction is based on an injection-moulded EPS core with a dense outer shell, which increases strength and reduces water absorption. A PVC sandwich layer with lightweight biax carbon encases the core, whilst a unidirectional carbon patch reinforces the standing and foil areas. Innegra reinforcements on the rails and heel provide protection during hard landings. According to the manufacturer, the special lamination method achieves a pre-preg resin-to-fibre ratio for maximum stiffness with minimum weight. The sanded topcoat over the carbon saves a few extra grams and gives the board its elegant appearance. The grip has been completely removed to eliminate unnecessary weight.

Absorber pads from the windsurfing sector and a redesigned track system

The new shock-absorbing pads beneath the EVA deck are based on JP’s windsurfing footpad technology. They cushion even the hardest landings and ensure a safe, controlled footing – or so the claim goes. The pads are firmly integrated into the deck structure and are not expected to adversely affect weight distribution.

According to JP, the tried-and-tested outline combines a long, narrow shape with gentle rocker lines. The tapered nose reduces swing weight and improves airflow. Additional thickness in the nose area provides volume and stability, whilst the slightly concave standing deck ensures direct contact with the foil. The bottom-tail rocker is designed to lift the nose during flight, creating space for explosive pop and smoother touch-downs. Flat concavities in the hull ensure even water flow. Completely smooth rails provide maximum glide surface, pop and stability, it adds.

The manufacturer promises that the updated track system significantly speeds up foil assembly. Large openings allow the plate nuts to be inserted directly into the tracks. The nuts can be slid into position and tightened. When dismantling, JP adds, it is simply a matter of loosening the screws, sliding them back and lifting the foil off. All boards come with four standard plate nuts for a perfect fit, load distribution and secure threaded engagement. Multiple footstrap positions cater for V-shaped, centred and off-centre set-ups. The JP-Australia F-Winger is available in 55, 66 and 77-litre volumes.
