With the Futurama Start, Norden Surfboards is launching a beginner-friendly wingfoil board on the market, which not only makes it easier to get started, but should also be fun even after the first learning successes. The Futurama Start is designed to avoid the problem of many beginner boards being exhausted after just a few sessions, as the board is positioned between typical beginner boards and shapes for advanced surfers in terms of its dimensions. In other words: a little more length for early and easy planing, but also a little narrower than conventional beginner boards so that it doesn't get too boring - the board should therefore cover a large target group and combine early take-off with good board control.
To further increase the board's suitability for beginners, it has been equipped with the option of fitting an additional centre fin. In this way, you should also be able to effortlessly make your way through light winds, below the foilable wind limit, without drifting sideways too much. The manufacturer also emphasises that the model can also be used as a SUP foil board for waves.
The Norden Futurama Start is available in a size of 120 litres (6'2''x28.5''). It is manufactured in the tried-and-tested wood sandwich construction and is reasonably priced at 1129 euros. Information and ordering via the Norden-Surfboards shop.
