Ensis has completely revised its Topspin wing model. The boom wing is aimed at wingfoilers of all levels, whether freeride, wave or downwind. According to the manufacturer, the efficient profile of the Topspin ensures early take-off, balanced power and smooth control from take-off to landing. When developing the new Topspin, Ensis designer Patrick Aggeler placed particular emphasis on the surface tension of the wing material. "The tension of the wing cloth is crucial," he explains. "A wing with optimum tension is easier to control, feels more stable, delivers more power and is more efficient." The cloth is supported by a combination of a semi-rigid trailing edge and wing tip stabilisers, which Ensis says is unique in the industry.
Team rider Eva Nora Wyss is delighted with the new Ensis Topspin: "I love how early it lifts me out of the water. Even in light winds, the wing feels lively and has great propulsion. I get power when I need it and always have enough control." She particularly appreciates the fact that she doesn't have to concentrate on handling the wing, but can focus fully on fun and manoeuvres.
Aluminium and carbon boom for topspin
The new Ensis Topspin is available in ten sizes from 2.0 to 6.5 square metres, graduated in steps of 0.5. A new twist-lock valve, familiar from inflatable SUPs, is designed to ensure quick and easy set-up. In addition, the Wing has a deflation valve on the strut for easy deflation and compact packing. The wing comes as standard with an oval aluminium boom in three lengths, which is said to be particularly ergonomic and easy to grip. A carbon boom is optionally available, both of which are attached to the wing using a click system. Both versions must be purchased separately.
The Ensis Topspin package includes a high-quality rucksack with an ergonomic back section and adjustable shoulder straps. The wing is supplied with a wrist leash with swivel as standard.
