With the new Wing Topspin Ace, Ensis is launching a freeride model for experienced riders and professionals. Thanks to the ultra-light Dyneema material, the Topspin Ace is designed to offer a wide range of use and smooth handling with direct control.

The Swiss manufacturer Ensis presents the Wing Topspin Ace, a new boom wing for discerning wingfoilers. The wing already presented at the boat exhibited in January Freeride model is aimed at experienced riders through to professionals and is intended to set new standards in terms of efficiency, weight and wind range, according to the manufacturer. The centrepiece of the innovation is the use of state-of-the-art Dyneema material for the leading edge, which is 15 times stronger than steel but light enough to float on the water. The new Ensis wing is intended to offer a wide range of applications. "It is light, highly efficient and covers a wide wind range. It impresses with plenty of power and propulsion in light winds and stability in strong winds," according to a press release. The Boom enables intuitive, direct control.

The Ensis Topspin Ace catches the eye with its slim wing profile and strongly tapered wingtips. This design, combined with the stiff Dyneema airframe, is intended to provide exceptional stability and efficiency in all wind conditions. Ensis designer Patrick Aggeler worked with a software developer for two years to develop a special design programme to fully exploit the potential of the Dyneema fabric. Balz Müller, who tested the wing for almost two years, enthuses: "Dyneema is extremely light, stiff and direct. It makes for a fascinatingly smooth ride and makes the Wing incredibly responsive and easy to control."

Ensis Topspin comes with lots of features

In addition to the Dyneema airframe, the Ensis Topspin Ace has other technical refinements. Wingtip stabilisers control the flex under high loads, while stiff fabric layers on the trailing edge are designed to reduce flutter. A new twist-lock valve, familiar from inflatable SUPs, enables quick and uncomplicated set-up. Two boom lengths are available for maximum performance: 108 cm and 118 cm.

Ensis offers a range of sophisticated accessories to match the Wing. A high-quality rucksack with an ergonomic design and expandable volume ensures comfortable transport. The oval aluminium boom promises a firm grip and direct power transmission. Another new addition to the range is a carbon boom for particularly demanding riders. The range is rounded off by an adjustable wrist leash with swivel joint and a hip leash for maximum safety.

You'll soon find out here on surf-magazin.de whether the new Ensis wing delivers the promised characteristics in reality! A test copy is already on its way to us!
