With the Ventis model, manufacturer Duotone is launching a wing on the market that has been specially optimised for light winds. The concept is also intended to appeal to wingsurfers whose pumping technique is not yet so sophisticated and who want to take off early even with a passive riding style.
This is made possible by a special design in the area of the wingtips. By installing additional, air-filled side struts, the profile is stabilised right up to the wingtips. This means that the wingtips themselves can be designed to be very slim, which should prevent the wingtips from dragging in the water when starting off. Wing sizes of seven or eight square metres should also be navigable for smaller people in this way.
The new Duotone Ventis is available in a standard design and as an ultra-light Aluula version (Ventis D/LAB), each in the sizes 7.0 and 8.0 square metres. In the Ventis D/LAB, the rigid Aluula material is used in the front tube and struts. Due to the high rigidity of this material, the diameter of the tubes can be reduced without the wing becoming too soft. This saves weight in the end, but also comes at a price.
For the grip system, Duotone relies on the tried-and-tested fixed grips already used on the Unit model ( HERE there's a test) are used. The Ventis costs 1449 euros, while the elegant Aluula variant D/LAB is available for 2499 to 2599 euros.
