"Handles or boom?" - This is a fundamental question that many wingsurfers ask themselves before making a purchase decision. Both systems have certain advantages and disadvantages: Soft handles do not cause any damage to the board or rider and are slightly lighter on average. Boom systems, on the other hand, offer more direct contact and therefore undelayed steering impulses. To make the decision easier for customers, brands such as Vayu ( HIE R's test of the Aura model) and now also Ocean Rodeo simply offer both systems.
For example, the soft handles can be used with the Glide A-Series Now you can remove them within two minutes using Velcro fasteners and replace them with either mini booms or a long carbon rod, comparable to the Duotone system.
