Every grip system has its advantages and disadvantages: Firm booms generally offer very direct contact with the wing and allow you to move your hands with millimetre precision. Soft handles are noticeably lighter and pose no risk of injury in the event of a fall.
The new Vayu Aura makes the decision for wingsurfers "Boom or handles?" and offers the option of switching between the two systems. The fixed handles can be replaced with soft handles using a screw connection. The Aura model is said to be significantly lighter than the Vayu VVing ( HERE there's a test) - with handles, the size 4 should only weigh just over 2.2 kilos, with the boom system around 2.5 kilos.
The new wing will be available in six sizes with 2.3/2.8/3.5/4.0/5.0/6.0sqm and three colour variants. The focus of the design should be on lightness and optimum handling, so the new Aura Wing should appeal to freestylers, wave riders and downwind fans in particular. To achieve this, the wing has been given a forward pressure point and a compact wingspan.
Of course, you'll soon be able to find out how the Wing performs on the water here on the website. You'll find more information about the model soon HERE on the website of the manufacturer Vayu.
