The Source model is available in four sizes
Lots of power, a small wingspan and a lower price - these are the arguments in favour of the new entry-level wing Source from Starboard.

In addition to the Allroundwing Viva In March 2026, manufacturer Starboard launched the entry-level model Source on the market. The new wing is available in four sizes (2.5/3.5/5.0/6.0 square metres) and has been specially designed for the needs of wingfoil beginners and freeriders who are looking for an uncomplicated and buoyant wing.

This includes a low aspect ratio to prevent the wing from dragging its wingtips in the water when starting and pumping. In order to optimise the take-off on the foil, the Source Wing has been given a deep and rather soft profile - this should allow the wing to load up noticeably in light winds and convert pumping strokes into lift as efficiently as possible. The Source model is also equipped with a full-length boom, which allows you to grip it steplessly and place your hands flexibly in manoeuvres such as jibes or tacking. However, the boom itself is not included in the scope of delivery - Starboard gives you the option of choosing between a carbon boom with a diameter of 24 millimetres (+ 175 euros) or a slightly thicker aluminium version with a diameter of 26 millimetres (+ 75 euros).

Keyword PriceThe Source Wing costs between 799 and 1049 euros (plus boom) and is therefore, depending on the size chosen, around 200-250 euros cheaper than the alternative Viva model. The scope of delivery includes a hip leash and a matching bag. Info also on the manufacturer's website.

The following product clip from Starboard also gives a good impression of the new wing:
