Wings 2027: New Unit Wing – Duotone focuses on lightweight construction and responsiveness

The Unit has been one of the most popular freeride wings on the market for years - The model will be updated ahead of the start of the 2027 season. For the smaller sizes, the manufacturer is retaining the front tube diameter of the Standard Unit, which is intended to provide additional lift in lighter wind conditions. However, a shorter strut is designed to reduce swing weight and deliver more compact handling. According to the manufacturer, the profile distribution has also been revised: less depth in the centre, more depth in the quarter-span area. This adjustment is intended to make power transfer more efficient whilst improving stability when drifting. As with the previous model, the Fusion system is designed to allow switching between boom and handle set-ups – although the handle system is not included in the package. Last but not least, Duotone claims to have adjusted the Unit’s window layout to provide a better view.

Duotone Unit 2027 – various construction methods and colour options

Duotone has retained the three-part structure of its model range: alongside the standard Unit model, the Unit SLS – featuring a stiff central section made from Aluula material – and the premium Unit D/Lab variant, which has been designed with a frame made entirely from Aluula material, are also available. Several colour options are also available, intended to visually reinforce the new wing design. However, the overall focus of the Duotone Unit 2027 remains unchanged: it is designed to appeal equally to freeriders, wave foilers and basic freestylers, offering the widest possible range of use.
