Vayu presents the EOS 2 Wing with Clickboom technology, optimised materials and improved handling for freeride and freestyle. Find out what's new and how the wing differs from the alternative model, the Aura 3, here.

With the EOS 2, Vayu promises a further development of the popular EOS Wing (HERE is a test). The new series is characterised by optimised middlestruts, Clickboom compatibility and innovative materials. Special attention is paid to improved handling and increased efficiency.

Clickboom technology for more flexibility

One of the key innovations of the EOS 2 is the Clickboom capability for sizes 3.0 to 5.5 square metres. This allows users to utilise a single Clickboom across this size range. By way of comparison, the previous EOS 1 model still required a separate boom for each wing size. This not only simplifies handling, but also increases flexibility when switching between different wing sizes, which can be particularly advantageous in changeable conditions.

Innovative materials for better performance

Vayu uses a combination of high-quality materials to increase the performance of the EOS 2. The centre section of the front tube has been reinforced with a stiff material called Aluula Aeris X-FX86. This material is intended to provide greater rigidity and stability, which should have a direct effect on the handling and efficiency of the wing. For the flying cloth, a mixture of Teijin D2 and Teijin D5 fabrics are used, which promise balanced stretch and improved durability. The EOS 2 retains the basic design of its predecessor, but has been refined in important aspects. The relatively flat profile with a short span is aimed at improved freeride and freestyle performance, which should appeal to both beginners and advanced wingfoilers.

The Vayu EOS 2 compared to the Aura 3 model

Compared to the Aura model from Vayu, the EOS 2 with its flatter profile and smaller wingspan is better manoeuvrable and also slightly faster in the upper wind range. The Aura 3, on the other hand, with its rather stretched outline and deeper profile, should offer more light wind power and also behave more neutrally when drifting - i.e. when you let it fly neutrally behind you when riding swells.
