But we can promise you from our own experience: It's worth it! Windsurfing is the best sport in the world and more than just a board, sail and a bit of water: the journeys, the natural experience of playing with the elements, the adrenaline of learning a new manoeuvre and the feeling of freedom - it's all unique and never stops, no matter how good you are or where you go on the water.
So that your surfing life doesn't end when you return from your holiday, we - the editors of the world's biggest windsurfing magazine "surf" - are giving you everything you need to continue surfing at home with this special. You don't need the sea on your doorstep, a car, your own equipment or a big wallet. To get started, it's enough to know where you can hire equipment cheaply, that there are inflatable windsurf boards and compact sails "for your pocket", where the best beginner spots are in your area and what you need to know about the equipment.
And because not all the information about windsurfing fits into this special issue, you will find lots of additional digital content in the form of explanatory videos and further articles in this issue.
We wish you lots of fun in your new world and see you on the water!
