If you want to repair your windsurf board quickly, you should have a UV-curing adhesive such as Solarez with you. You can find out how the repair works here.

First things first: If there are cracks in the standing area, mast track or fin box, it is better to call in a specialist, as adhesives such as Solarez do not provide sufficient stability here. However, outside of the stress zones in the standing area and the boxes, small cracks, tears and holes can be patched with UV-curing adhesives, sometimes permanently.

Solarez offers a healing paste made from UV-curing resin mixed with the finest glass fibre threads for such minor damage. Even larger impacts can usually be sealed quickly and fairly well on site - so your holiday is saved until the board is repaired properly. The special resin does not have to be mixed from two components as usual, but hardens under UV radiation. This makes it particularly easy to use:

After a few minutes, the resin has hardened and the board is ready for use again. During the board repair, the board should not be exposed to large temperature fluctuations in order to avoid pressure equalisation through the damaged area. Small burrs and edges can be smoothed with a little sandpaper.

Solarez is available in tubes of 0.5 to 2 ounces. In the local surf shop, you can expect to pay around 29 euros for 2 ounces >> e.g. available here .

Note:UV-curing adhesives are ideal for spots with direct sunlight; the board is often ready for use again within two minutes. In cloudy weather, however, the drying time is delayed, and on cold, rainy winter days the adhesive hardly hardens at all - for this reason, you should also have a two-component adhesive such as the "Ding Stick" up your sleeve.

He completed a traineeship at surf-Magazin in the test department and since then has actively accompanied almost all tests on the boom and for more than 10 years also as a photographer. Stephan has covered many thousands of test kilometers, mainly on Lake Garda and in Langebaan, but also in Egypt and Tobago. He gets his hands on over 100 new sails and boards every year as his company car. Privately, he prefers to surf with a foil on Lake Walchensee or “unfortunately far too rarely” in the waves. SUP is Stephan's second passion, which he pursued for several years at numerous SUP races. Today, he prefers to paddle on river tours with family or friends - even for several days.
