Some surf trailers for bicycles cost several hundred euros. But it can also be cheaper - provided a few adaptations are made.

A surf trailer for your bike is not only a good thing in times of high petrol prices. A trailer can also be worth its weight in gold in places where parking spaces are scarce or the journey from the car park to the water is long. However, the special trailers from established manufacturers are often expensive - prices of several hundred euros are sometimes called for.

However, with an inexpensive base such as the Cargo II presented here, which is available on Amazon from around 100 euros, as well as a few adaptations, you can also build an inexpensive and functional trailer yourself. Thanks to the large, air-filled tyres, the equipment then rolls behind you in a relaxed manner. To see exactly how the trailer was adapted, simply click through the picture gallery at the beginning of the article.

Of course, there are many possibilities for building a surf trailer. If you would like to share your ideas with the surf community, please send us an e-mail to redaktion@surf-magazin.de.
