To send out a signal against the national park plans, the water sports enthusiasts will meet in the Fehmarnsund off the Orther Reede roadstead after a rally on Friday evening.

"The Sound will be colourful" is the motto under which the Initiative Freie Ostsee Schleswig-Holstein and the Burger Segelvereinigung have called for a rally next Friday to protest against the Baltic Sea National Park. Surfers, SUPers, sailors and other water sports enthusiasts are to meet in the Fehmarn Sound west of the bridge at around 6 pm to demonstrate unity and create media-effective images. All water sports clubs, associations, professional groups and recreational athletes are invited to take part in the rally. Land-based participants and spectators will meet around the Strukkamphuk lighthouse. The event should last around 15 to 30 minutes.

The organisers have divided the water area into different zones for this purpose. The area in front of the Strukkamphuk campsite is intended for surfers and SUPers (see map). This is probably the best starting point, but Gold or Lemkenhafen are also possible. The surf zone is followed by the core zone, where the pictures will be taken. All zones are defined by buoys.

In view of the expected number of different water sports enthusiasts, the organisers call on everyone to navigate carefully and show consideration.

"With our rally, we want to express the great fears that a Baltic Sea National Park with inevitable bans will bring," say the initiators.

The protest from the surfing scene is becoming more and more present shortly before the water sports workshop on 11 July. In addition to the rally, the initiative is currently running a flyer and poster campaign, and Vincent Langer, for example, has surfed around Fehmarn in protest against the national park.
