The impressive and exciting documentary by director and producer Gerard Salmina tells the life story of Björn Dunkerbeck over three generations of windsurfers and at the same time tries to find out what makes and drives the person behind the athlete of the century with 42 world championship titles, who is still one of the world's top speed surfers after three decades as a professional. Also from the perspective of his competitors such as Robby Naish or Josh Angulo, who comment on Björn's greatest victories from their point of view.
"Born to Windsurf" is an elaborate cinema production that Gerald Salmina, himself an enthusiastic windsurfer and well-known documentary filmmaker, has been working on for several years. We have already seen parts of the film and can only say that it will be an epic work.
The film will premiere on 21 September, one day before the start of the World Cup on Sylt, at the Kinowelt Westerland. Here are the other dates with Björn Dunkerbeck:
Just in time for the premiere, we bring you a detailed making-of of the film and an interview with Gerald Salmina and his crew!
