Entry fee back: "boot Cashback Campaign" promotes young talent at the Windsurf Cup

This year, boot Düsseldorf became a partner of the Multivan Windsurf Cup for the first time. As part of the "boot Cashback Campaign", the world's largest water sports trade fair refunded the entry fee for the Youth U21 participants for the regattas of the top German windsurfing series. Especially in view of the current cost increases, this is a welcome relief when starting a regatta career

The support provided by boot Düsseldorf made it easier for many young people to enter the regatta. This led to a boom in young talent at the Multivan Windsurf Cup this season. More than half of the participants in the Windsurf Cup this season were under 21 years old. Thanks to boot Düsseldorf's support for youngsters, the Multivan Windsurf Cup can continue to establish itself as the springboard for windsurfing careers.

"We are delighted with boot Düsseldorf's commitment. This has directly benefited the young participants," says Matthias Regber from Choppy Water GmbH, which organises the Multivan Windsurf Cup. "The support can be an additional motivation for the youngsters to take the plunge and enter the Multivan Windsurf Cup. It certainly shows that Messe Düsseldorf cares about young talent. "Taking part in the Multivan Windsurf Cup is the dream of many windsurfing youngsters. But the financial hurdles are too high for many. By reimbursing the entry fees, boot Düsseldorf contributes to the rejuvenation of regatta sport and supports the youngsters directly. Every bit of help is valuable for young regatta talents, especially when they are just starting out," says boot Director Petros Michelidakis.

From the LTU Funboard Cup to "Windsurfing Talent of the Year"

As the world's largest water sports trade fair, it has traditionally been active in windsurfing since the 1980s. Initially, regattas such as the LTU Funboard Cup were sponsored, and since 2011 the "Windsurfing Talent of the Year" has been honoured with a cash prize every year in cooperation with surf Magazin. The jury often proved to have a good hand, as most of the previous winners have gone on to become very successful athletes.

Since this season, it is no longer just one young person and one young person who benefit from the sponsorship, but young windsurfers in general who are to be motivated to enter the top series of the German regatta scene. Following the successful premiere, the "boot Cashback Campaign" is to be continued in 2023. The up-and-coming riders at the Multivan Windsurf Cup can therefore continue to look forward to boot Düsseldorf's support.
