The season finale of the Multivan Windsurf Cup is set to be another real cracker: Germany's best racers will be coming to Heiligenhafen from 24 to 27 August for the sixth and final event of 2023. The spot is not only easy to reach, but also offers optimal visibility for spectators on the pier. Depending on the wind direction, the start or finish can be directly in front of the audience.
Not only the final points for the rankings will be awarded in Heiligenhafen, but also the European title in Formula Windsurfing. The favourite is likely to be multiple German champion Vincent Langer. The Kiel native won the Fin Slalom title at the Surf Cup Sylt at the end of July. He is now hoping to win the European Championship title in foil racing in Heiligenhafen. Fabian Wolf, who has just returned from the iQFoil World Championships in The Hague, is also in the spotlight. German youngsters Leo Richter and Meno Büchler are also hoping to be among the front runners for the Youth title. The 30 or so registered riders include top international riders who were among the front runners at the World Championships on Lake Garda: Tomasz Romanowski and Pawel Dittrich from Poland, Fernando Martinez Del Cerro from Spain and Miguel Martinho from Portugal.
"We are looking forward to realising another highlight at the end of the Multivan Windsurf Cup season. The European Championship in Formula Windsurfing is something very special," says Matthias Regber from Choppy Water, explaining: "At the other tour stops of the Multivan Windsurf Cup, we have focussed entirely on fin and foil slalom, as is the case with the International Funboard Class Association or the PWA Profitour. In Heiligenhafen, the racers will now get their money's worth."
In addition to the competitions of the surfing elite at the European Championships, the Multivan Windsurf Cup offers a colourful programme for visitors to the adventure pier in Heiligenhafen. In the event village on the beach, you can get information at various stands or shop directly. There is a great programme for the kids with the Quatro-Highjump facility and a gigantic inflatable slide. At the Autostadt stand, you can get a flavour of the activities and offers that can be discovered in the Autostadt Wolfsburg. Twice a day, you can get active yourself during free yoga sessions with "Black Label Yoga powered by LVM Versicherung". At the catering stands, you can then recharge your batteries and prepare for the evening.
Every evening, the pier forecourt becomes a party location for the Multivan Windsurf Cup. At the after-race parties, visitors and surfers can celebrate together on the promenade until the sun finally sinks into the Baltic Sea. DJ Nikki Musik and Jermaine Vita will kick things off on Thursday. On Friday, singer and songwriter Till Seifert will perform from 18:30 to 20:00. DJ Solsonid then takes over the stage and heats up the dance crowd until 23:00. Saturday evening will also open with a live act: Strandheizung will create a summer atmosphere on the pier in Heiligenhafen before DJ Diamond presents a final party firework display. Admission to the Multivan Windsurf Cup and the parties is free.
