Surfsport Rheinhausen is celebrating its 40th birthday after a year's delay due to the pandemic. To mark the anniversary, there will be a party with a raffle, drinks and snacks on 13 May.

40 years in business is a long time for a surf shop. Surf-Sport Rheinhausen has actually been in business for 41 years, but the big party has so far fallen victim to coronavirus. On 13 May 2023, however, there will be a celebration! From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a party with drinks and treats in the shop on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße in Duisburg. In addition to the sales team, representatives from various brands will also be there to answer questions.

There will also be a raffle with great prizes from all disciplines, including:

  • Fanatiy Fly Air
  • GA Crosswing
  • AK Wing Foil
  • NeilPryde Combat HD

Surf-Sport Rheinhausen was founded in 1982 by Dieter Attermeyer and Jürgen van Gemmern due to a lack of shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity. In 2000, Ingo Bernards, himself an enthusiastic surfer, took over the business. Today the team includes Ingo Bernards, Ian Ostenberg, Rene Bloch and a few temporary staff - all of whom are active water sports enthusiasts themselves. In addition to the shop with a sales area of 1200 m2, there is also an online shop, as well as repair and testing facilities.

The brands in the shop include Fanatic, Duotone, NeilPryde, Severne, Starboard, Tabou, GA Sails, RRD, Xcel, Unifiber, JP-Australia, Naish and many more!

Tobi is our digital man, he looks after the surf website and social media channels and gets on everyone's nerves every morning by asking for more pictures and videos. His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
