Competing against each other, pushing each other and finding the fastest windsurfer without having to travel a lot - that's the idea behind the Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge. Björn Dunkerbeck wants to bring speed surfers from all over the world together and publicise new speed spots. "Anyone from anywhere in the world can take part, all you need is an account on gps-speedsurfing.com and a suitable GPS device," says Dunki. What's more, participation is free of charge.
In 2023 there will again be three separate periods:
In all three time periods there are individual rankings for fins, foils and wingfoiling. The ranking list is based on the average speed over 250 metres. In addition to the open class for men and women, there are also separate rankings for Grand Master (51-60), Super Master (61-70), Ultimate Master (71-99), Youth (0-10), Junior (11-14) and Junior Plus (15-18).
In addition to the ranking list, there are special rankings in all three event slots:
With Anne Schindler, the Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge has a new race director. The former German speed surfing record holder is set to bring a breath of fresh air to the event. "This is a significant step towards more equality in water sports!" says a delighted Björn Dunkerbeck. "Hopefully this will motivate more women to take part in the event, as the sport is still very much dominated by men."

In addition to the Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge, there are also other contests with GPS rankings, such as the Bavarian Speed Kini ( speed-kini.de ), for Saxony the Sax Speed King ( sax-speedking.com ) or various events and evaluations under gps-speedsurfing.com .
