It looks like carbon, but it's plastic - this gives the ProLimit Argon harness a little more flexibility.
The Argon hard shell model in the ProLimit range is aimed at windsurfers who are looking for a hip harness with maximum back support and comfort.

It is available in sizes XS/S/M/L and XL for 329 Euro . Compared to other hard shell models, the Argon is less rigid, but the shell still offers some flex. This could be due to the fact that although it looks like carbon fibre, it is actually made of plastic - which is not necessarily a disadvantage on the water.

In the test, the outer shell appears firm, but the inside has thick padding that caresses the back. Soft material was used on the edges, which prevented annoying pressure points even during long sessions. Overall, the back support of the Argon is really good and the forces are well distributed over the entire surface.

Our tester normally uses ProLimit harnesses in size M - but the Argon in this size was not one hundred per cent comfortable. When we chose a size larger, the harness surprisingly offered a great combination of freedom of movement, comfort and good back support. We definitely recommend trying it on in the shop - if in doubt, you should go for a size larger.

The usual features of the Argon are tried and tested and absolutely functional: the fastener is easy to use and very simple, and an integrated Velcro strap secures the harness securely to the hull. The only thing that detracts from the comfort of the harness is that ProLimit has not fitted a plate under the hook - this can put a lot of pressure on the ribs in the event of a whiplash.

Surf summary of the ProLimit Argon:

The Argon offers a high level of back support and - if the size fits - also good comfort. Anyone who enjoys long sessions with large sails and doesn't want to do without a hip harness will find a suitable concept here.
