Thanks to the Vario top, the new Seal can also be ridden on a 400 mast - although the 370 is our recommendation. The Seal gets by with only moderate loose leech, the trim point in the top shows the way. As a heavyweight, Hack allows you to pull in a little more slack than recommended. Also because the 2023 Seal has been given noticeably more power on the sail hand, the sail gets up to speed well and is very stable in the hand.
Even without pumping and perfect planing technique, the sail finds the right angle of attack almost by itself. In a straight line, it is also powerful, the pressure point is nailed down - annoying re-trimming remains the exception. When riding down the waves, the sail always provides a noticeable ground pull on the sail hand (drive), which helps to arrive at the wave lip with a lot of speed in slack conditions. Conversely, the Seal is no longer one of the most playful sails that can be steered through manoeuvres and loops with two fingers.
The new Seal has been tuned more powerfully again and scores as a planing, uncomplicated and balanced sail, especially in the waves and when freeriding. For freestyle and manoeuvring fans, however, the 2022 Seal even has an advantage.
