NeilPryde claims to have slimmed down the Combat Pro by 250 grams by optimising the arrangement of the panels and using lighter aramid fibres, but the outline and profile remain unchanged. A marking in the top helps you to find the right trim, the good protector and tool-free batten tensioners have been part of the Pryde standard for years.
The Combat Pro loads up excellently when close-hauled and immediately converts the power into speed. In the medium wind range, the sail is pleasantly light and agile, providing a perfect blend of power and handling. Only at the limits can the soft profile not keep the pressure point stable for quite as long as other models. On the wave, the Combat Pro is very balanced: it pulls into the turn with super drive - making it easy for intermediates and cracks alike to get enough speed for powerful cutbacks or wave moves up to the wave lip. Depending on the trim, however, the sail also flattens out in the bottom turn and offers a light, neutral feel.
The Combat Pro is easy to glide, light and equipped with plenty of drive and scores points with a large target group from Heiligenhafen to Hookipa.
