Ensis is expanding its Maniac foil range with the Flow Ace, a high-aspect-ratio model designed for efficient gliding. According to the manufacturer, the new foil combines low drag with accessible handling and is aimed at riders who want to stay on the foil for longer with less effort. Available in four sizes ranging from 720 to 1,260 square centimetres.

Ensis is launching the Flow Ace, a new foil designed to prioritise efficiency and glide performance. The model complements the existing Maniac range and features a high-aspect profile with reduced thickness. “Riding a wave on a foil is one of the most wonderful experiences in water sports,” says the manufacturer. The Flow Ace has been developed to prolong precisely this sensation – through maximum glide combined with controlled handling.

The design is based on the Maniac Monobloc System, in which the front wing and stabiliser are manufactured as single-piece carbon components. According to Ensis, this construction reduces the number of structural connection points and increases stiffness under load. The Flow Ace is aimed at wing foilers, prone foilers, SUP downwinders and pump foilers who want to extend their sessions without having to constantly expend energy on speed. The foil is available in four sizes, covering a range of different applications.

Profile for reduced drag

Ensis claims that the Flow Ace utilises an exceptionally thin, high-aspect profile designed to ensure low drag and high efficiency. According to the manufacturer, the refined outline and ultra-thin profile deliver exceptional glide whilst maintaining predictable lift, even at low speeds. As a result, the foil naturally follows the energy in the water, enabling smooth transitions between turns, waves and bumps. The moderate aspect ratio, combined with tapered wing tips and balanced geometry, makes the Flow Ace accessible despite its performance-oriented design. The foil feels stable and forgiving, yet still offers the efficiency that advanced riders expect. This combination makes it equally suitable for progression, pump foiling and high-performance riding. Its efficiency is particularly evident during pump foiling, where maintaining speed and low drag help you stay on the foil for longer.

The geometry gives the Flow Ace excellent carving characteristics whilst maintaining stability through turns. Lift remains constant even at lower speeds, which makes pumping easier and allows riders to link multiple waves or swells. “Whether you’re riding downwind, doing prone foiling, parawinging, wing foiling or pump foiling – the Flow Ace turns every change in the water into another opportunity to keep going,” promises the manufacturer. Its efficiency isn’t limited to straight-line riding, but is also evident in dynamic manoeuvres and when navigating different water conditions.

Monobloc system with a simplified design

The Flow Ace integrates into the Ensis Maniac Monobloc Foil System, in which the front wing and stabiliser are manufactured as single-piece carbon components. With fewer joints, the system is said to be noticeably stiffer, more efficient and more responsive under load. The one-tool assembly, combined with high-quality marine-grade hardware, makes assembly quick, easy and reliable. The system reduces the number of components and thus potential weak points. The hardware is designed to withstand salt water and prevents corrosion even during intensive use.

Four sizes for different disciplines

The Flow Ace is available in four sizes, catering to different applications and riding styles. The Flow Ace 720 is fast and efficient, offering exceptional glide and sharp carving, making it ideal for wing foiling, prone foiling and tow foiling. The Flow Ace 900 is the ultimate all-rounder – offering a perfect balance of lift, glide and carving for wing foiling, prone, parawing and pump foiling. The Flow Ace 1080 offers more lift whilst maintaining speed and efficiency, ideal for prone, parawing, SUP and pump foiling, particularly when linking smaller swells. The Flow Ace 1260 delivers maximum lift and effortless pumping, designed for SUP downwind, light-wind wing and parawing, whilst making pump foiling accessible.
