Some manufacturers supply their foils with screws that can't exactly be described as "top quality". If you then use poor tools, the hexagon socket screws that are sometimes used will quickly wear out and you will no longer be able to loosen the screws after the session. You can find out what you need to bear in mind when repairing foils here.

The screw connections of the mast, fuselage and wing are exposed to high loads when wingfoiling. The screws often loosen slightly on the water, which is why many wingsurfers tighten the screws particularly tightly. The heads of hexagon socket screws in particular then wear out quickly - making it impossible to separate the mast and fuselage, for example. We will show you below how to repair foils quickly.

You need for the repair:

  • Drilling machine
  • Metal drill bits in various thicknesses
  • Possibly gripping pliers
  • Spare screws to make your foil fit for the next use afterwards

We show you how the foil repair works in the following picture gallery.
