Nowhere else can you learn windsurfing or a certain move faster than at a windsurfing camp. Spending an intensive time with good instructors and other windsurfers has already resulted in countless friendships, legendary stories and, last but not least, very rapid progress on the water.
The Cologne-based tour operator Jas-Tours also follows this philosophy. Owner Jörn Saueracker: "Our idea starts with the simple question: 'What does the perfect day of surfing look like?' Our answer is actually just as simple and the basis of all our surf camps: the perfect day on the water is a mixture of a successful manoeuvre that you have been working on for a long time, a good 'ride' and lots of fun."
Our aim is to provide every surfer with a perfect day of surfing on the water and afterwards on land"
Jas-Tours always keeps an eye on the budget and focuses on easily accessible destinations and attractively priced accommodation. A classic is the surf camp in Leucate, which is offered several times in spring and autumn. At the legendary Etang, there are beginner courses for all those who want to learn windsurfing in optimal conditions, as well as specific courses for intermediate and advanced surfers. The spectrum ranges from water starts and harness riding to jumps and wave riding. Foiling and wingfoiling are also part of the programme. A special freestyle camp with riders from the German Freestyle Battles is planned for 2024.
In Holland, there are family camps at Whitsun and Ascension Day on the Veerse Meer in Zeeland and in Makkum on the Ijsselmeer. "We teach you for two hours a day and in the afternoon you have time to consolidate what you have learnt with our material," says Jörn Saueracker. "As everyone finds it easier or more difficult to learn different movement sequences, our guests can take part in our individualised module system every day free of charge. They are accompanied by our instructors during participation and free surfing on request, who are on hand with tips and tricks so that success at the end of the day is almost predetermined."
Jas-Tours also trains surf instructors itself and offers courses in cooperation with the DSV and RWTH Aachen University. The practical week runs parallel to the surf camp in Makkum. Jas-Tours also offers attractive destinations away from the water, such as Norway and Franconia.
