The Multivan Windsurf Cup returns to Sylt from 25 to 30 July. Not only will ranking points be awarded there, but the German champions will also be crowned. There is also a great programme on land.

Fifth and penultimate event of the year in the Windsurf Cup: from 25 to 30 July, the windsurf cuppers will be competing in the foil slalom and fin slalom disciplines at Brandenburger Strand on Sylt, and wave riding could also be spontaneously scheduled. The possibility of a "wave alarm" cannot be ruled out, at least at the moment when looking at the forecast. There could also be a good chance of fin racing for the first time this year in winds of around 20 knots.

The GWA (German Windsurfing Association) German championship titles are awarded at the Windsurf Cup Sylt, and the winner of the Foil Slalom can also call themselves the International German Champion. The effects on the ranking list in the Windsurf Cup could be exciting: The leaders Michele Becker and Nico Prien will most likely not be on Sylt because the World Cup is starting on Fuerteventura at the same time. The top favourites therefore include Fabian Wolf, Gunnar Asmussen and the Winner of St. Peter-Ording, Lars Poggemann .

SUP Trophy Sylt, Vanlife and much more at the Windsurf Cup Sylt

The SUP Trophy Sylt takes place as a "special event" as part of the Multivan Surf Cup Sylt. This is a stand-by contest in which the aim is to circumnavigate the island on a SUP in one week. Three stages are planned: A northern leg, a southern leg and a downwinder on the western side off Westerland. In total, the planned route is around 90 kilometres long. The event site at Brandenburger Strand is the base for the athletes, who will set off from there on paddling trips all over the island.

Partner VW will also be presenting a vanlife exhibition at the Windsurf Cup Sylt with many van models from the T1 to the ID.Buzz, Chiemsee will be there with a pop-up store, LVM Versicherung will be offering a play arena for children and there will be free yoga sessions twice a day. Of course, there will also be plenty of catering and other stands on Sylt. In the evening, there will be a party on the promenade.

His surfing CV includes all the famous choppy water spots: As a teenager, he went from his home in Münsterland to the Ijsselmeer or the Brouwersdam, and during his civilian service on Sylt, after countless washes on the west side, the Königshafen became his preferred spot. After studying in Kiel and Heidkate, he was supposed to go to Hamburg “only for a short time”, but this short time has lasted for over ten years and has made him a “weekend warrior”. He goes on tour with his family and camper van as often as possible, often to the Baltic Sea, SPO or Denmark, but also likes to go to Finland, Sweden or Sardinia.
