We look back on the windsurfing year and show the best pictures from events and special sessions!

2022 began with a winter that offered many good sessions - on the North and Baltic Seas as well as worldwide. Leon Jamaer accompanied Thomas Traversa on one of his big wave missions and both found top conditions in Galicia.

The PWA calendar looked promising at the beginning of the year - the fact that there wasn't much left of it in the end was partly due to local problems at various spots and the general economic situation. But in March, former world champion Josh Angulo managed to organise a long-awaited down-the-line event in his home country of Cape Verde. Even though the conditions did not come close to the legendary contest of 2007, many riders and spectators were thrilled.

The Défi Wind is legendary anyway, so not many words are needed. But in 2022, three friends from Bavaria made their way to Gruissan and reported in surf what it's like to start with 1200 surfers at the same time and not always have everything under control.

Maui mainly has huge waves on the north side. But in July, a south swell hit the island and created waves the likes of which had not been seen for over ten years. Robby Naish, Jason Polakow, Sarah Hauser, Michi Schweiger and others rode mega waves in La Perouse, Hauser and Schweiger reported on the big day in surf

And PWA again: After the Cape Verde Cup, two well-known spots, Pozo and Sylt, were on the (already very thin) tour calendar. Sylt in particular exceeded all expectations with "Magic Monday" and delivered great action.
