Broken zips make every intact board bag worthless. With Fixn Zip* The zips can be restored quickly and cheaply.

Start of the season! Hectic packing, wind, sun, pure anticipation. The mates are already outside, so just set up quickly and...

It is not known how many surfers start the new surfing season each spring with a complete breakdown because the zip of their board bag has corroded during the long winter months and stubbornly refuses to release the treasure in the bag. In view of the white foam crowns, patience is not enough to solve the problem in a timely manner - only sheer force will do.

While such intact bags used to end up in the bin sooner or later, Fixn Zip could now be the solution - broken zips can be repaired in a matter of minutes and completely without tools.

Salt and moisture have corroded the aluminium of the sledge. If you have time and leisure, you should carefully try to make the old carriage work again, armed with a little penetrating oil, vinegar cleaner and pliers. If this does not succeed or it breaks off, the carriage must be replaced.

If the teeth of the zip are still fit, you can insert the new slider directly on the stopper. If the teeth are damaged, start at the damaged area, but then glue or sew up to the damaged area to prevent it from tearing open from the other side.

The new slide is simply screwed on without tools, and a ring or strap supplied ensures that the zip can be easily operated afterwards. In some cases, the new zip is a little more stiff than the original.

A very good idea that works for the most part - not only for board bags, but for all metal and plastic zips. There are limitations, however, if the size of the slider used does not fit, the zip will not close properly. For one of our boardbags, the largest available size (L) was already at the limit. In any case, you should measure the width of the closed zip in advance in order to buy the right zip puller: The size is often written on the back, just check the old sled!

Fixn Zip is available individually for around 16 euros (e.g. at Amazon) or in a 3-pack for just under 30 euros.
