With the new Superdry model, neoprene manufacturer Ascan now offers a high-quality surf shoe for cold days. We have tried out the new product.

Available is the Ascan Superdry in sizes from 37/38 to 47/48 for 69.90 euros. The material of the shoe is very flexible. Slipping on is effortless and thanks to the plush inner lining, you can slide in almost without resistance. The fit of the Ascan Superdry is rather generous and suits normal to wide feet better, less well for very narrow feet. The Velcro is sewn far back on the inside. This means that it doesn't get in the way when you step into the foot straps, even if you have adjusted them large and want to slide your foot in far. However, the shoe cannot be pulled perfectly tight with this Velcro on the instep.

The six-millimetre-thick neoprene combined with the warm plush, which extends to the front of the toe area, ensures very warm feet. Even in arctic water temperatures below four degrees, the Superdry has not yet reached its temperature limit. What's more, thanks to the cosy neoprene cuff and sealed seams, hardly any water gets into the shoes. Wearing comfort is also at a very high level. The pleasantly soft sole provides excellent contact with the board.

Winter surf shoe Ascan Superdry - the test result:

The Ascan Superdry convinces all water sports enthusiasts who want to get out on the water even on very cold days with temperatures below five degrees Celsius with its high level of comfort and excellent thermal insulation. The fit is only not ideal for very narrow feet. The price of 69.90 euros (>> e.g. available here) seems absolutely fair in view of the features.
