The particularly soft and thick lining can be found throughout the lower section - and the sleeves and chest/shoulders are also softly lined.
The Soöruz Guru+ 6/5/4 Winterneo is designed for the coldest days of the year. We have subjected the wetsuit to the toughest tests at four to five degrees water temperature and low single-digit air temperatures.

The French brand Soöruz is still little known on the German market, but has been established in France for years. The Men's model convinced the testers as "the benchmark among winter neos". Is the women's winter neo just as good? We tested it last winter, but the wetsuit is still in the programme!

At six millimetres on the torso and five millimetres on the legs, the neoprene thickness is thick. Nevertheless, the Winterneo is very flexible when you put it on: the actually small entry opening can be stretched wide and the particularly thick and fluffy lining of the wetsuit allows you to slip into it almost like a pair of plush pyjamas. The size S wetsuit fitted our testers (165 cm, 58 kg) snugly, with very little "air" in the lumbar area.

The perceived freedom of movement was nevertheless very good and the flexibility at the highest level. The hood is also made from a very stretchy material, where you will find much "bulkier" materials from competitors. The neck cuff is long for an unobstructed, owl-like all-round view. Only the upper cut of the hood appears somewhat angular and forms small "horns". The chest zip does not need to be threaded. An additional elasticated band ensures a good seal at the neck. The face opening is cut very comfortably, sits close to the chin and does not slip over the mouth. In addition to being very easy to put on and take off, the "Guru+ Hood" impressed us above all with its excellent thermal insulation.

Extremely large, warm lining

Soöruz leaves almost nothing out of the equipment that is possible. All seams are additionally sealed on the outside with elasticated rubber and the seams in the upper area are also taped on the inside. A very soft, quick-drying lining warms the chest, back and arms, while the lower torso (including the sides!) and legs are equipped with the thickest lining of all the wetsuits tested ("Storm-Dry" lining made from recycled polyester). Together with the very good waterproofing, this makes the wetsuit one of the warmest models in the test field.

The lining and thick material ensure very good thermal performance on land and in the water. Almost no water penetrates during washing, the cuff on the chest overlaps with the entry underneath and closes well, as does the hood. Even in sub-zero temperatures, it still remained warm after an hour's decent diving. Very good gloves and shoes are of course just as important. The smooth, water-repellent "Black Diamond" coating on the back ensures less chilling in the wind.
